Hi, guys! This week has been really busy for me, which to be honest feels quite different. Since we arrived in Hong Kong, I haven't really had time to start new after school activities and the only thing I have really been busy with is school - but this week, things have changed!
Last week, the second semester of the year started at my school, which is quite different to me, since my school in Sweden always started after Christmas, rather than after lunar new year. After a hectic week with lots of last assessments, I was hoping for a soft and easy start, but that did not happen. I have had quite a few assignments due this week, but I have been able to manage fit them in, as well as my new after school activity!!
Every year, the school I attend does a school production, and this year they are doing the story Shockheaded Peter. Because of how I really enjoy acting, I decided to join. Although we rehearse two hours after school twice a week, I absolutely love it so far! It is so much fun. It is really different to actually have scheduled things to do after school... since volleyball season was over, I haven't had any activities like this after school, and now that I do it feels different, but I actually enjoy it!
Other than this, we also had a sports day this week. The whole of secondary school is split into four "houses" that compete against each other in track and field events collecting points. Many people told me that I ended up in the house that normally loses, so that was the picture I walked in with, and I did the same thing for the races I was signed up for. This may sound crazy, but it just makes me expect losing and if I don't, I will be super happy which is luckily what happened! I voluntarily signed up for the longest races (400, 800 and 1500m) which the other girls in y house though was an angelic act by the way, and I did not come last in a single race! In fact, for 800 I came second out of the girls and in 1500m I came third! I am really proud of myself, and my house! We actually came second which we are all really happy about.
So, busy week but lots of fun! I have some fun things to blog about this weekend too. Can't wait!
Hong Kong Hugs,
Alva xxx
