Hi! Welcome to my blog. Enjoy reading about what I've been doing this past week!
This week has been the end of summer holiday for me. To be honest, I'll really miss it. My summer has been so eventful and exciting and something I'll never forget. Don't get me wrong though, I was actually quite excited to start school! Maybe not for exams, homework, and waking up early, but starting a new school in a new country, meeting new friends and getting back into my daily routine just sounds great to me!
My week started off with a student orientation at school. Every year the school has an orientation for the new students together with the students ambassadors for your grade. I got to see a tour of the school in the ambassadors perspective and everything went great. After that, I went back home and got ready for the next day.
On Tuesday I woke up and got ready and walked to school with my brother Ludvig. From our serviceapartment it's only a five minute walk to school which is great! When we move into out house next week we will take the school bus from our complex gate. We left our apartment a few minutes after 07:30 just to make sure we found everything in time. When we arrived to school the area outside the gymnasium, which was where the first essembly was being held, and met my classmate who I had met before, along with her friends. Everything went so well! Other than my schedule being slightly mixed up leading to me going to the wrong class I had everything under controll. Tuesday was a half day so at 12:20 the day was done and I went back home.
The rest of the week was spent mostly with your homebase getting to know eachother. I think it's great having a few days before classes start to get to know the school, your teachers and your classmates!
Frday was retreit day for secondary school. My grade went to Hap Mun Beach for swimming, lunch and other activities. Everything was great, but I had apparently made a tiny mistake... At my school, we had no uniform. Not even a dresscode. When we went swimming or did other waterbased activities, bikinis were allowed. As that was what I was used to, I had brought a bikini. In fact, I didn't even have a rashtop or full swimsuit. In the morning when I arrived to school I was told by my friends that bikini were forbidden. When we arrived to the beach, I had to borrow a boy in my grades rashtop if I wanted to go swimming. As I really wanted to go in the ater, I had to borrow his rashtop... Now I know, that a fullpiece swimsuit is a must-have... Must-have!
On Saturday, three friends and I went to a trampolinepark in Quarry Bay called Ryze. This was my very first trampolinepark experience! In Sweden there wasn't any tramploineparks as far as I know and during our time and visits in the U.S we just never thought of going to one. But to be honest, I got a great first impression! It was so much fun and I had a blast. I can't wait to go back!
Today, Sunday, my mom and I went to the shopping mall MegaBox. We were going to Ikea fo some things for the house, and after my bikiniexperience at the retriet I knew I needed to get a swimsuit for my swimming unit in PE... I was also in need of a laptopsleeve for my school laptop since my old one was stolen. I found a great swimsuit and we got great things from Ikea... We even got some swedish dalahäst sponges. Great cure for homesickness! Unfortunally we did not find a laptopsleeve, but we got a folder for me to use temporarily until we find a better one.
So, here are my three things that I'm excited over for next week:
Moving into our house,
Trying out our complex pool,
Starting my schedule for school!
I would love to read what you are excited for, so leave a comment!
I'll see you next week.
Hong Kong Hugs,
Alva♥
